About Sparklyn

I turn complex ideas into clean, accessible digital experiences that feel easier to use.

Hello, I’m Kaylyn Strayhorn, a UI/UX Designer with a background in Chemical Engineering and a strong interest in accessibility, product thinking, and clean digital design.

Before UX, I studied how to break down complex systems and solve problems with precision. Now, I use that same structured thinking to design apps, websites, dashboards, and digital experiences that feel clear, usable, and visually polished.

My Design Philosophy

Good design should make things feel easier, not heavier.

I believe users should not have to fight an interface to understand what to do next. My engineering background helps me think in systems, while my interest in accessibility reminds me to design for clarity, simplicity, and real people.

Clarity Over Clutter

I simplify confusing flows so users can move through a product with more confidence.

Accessible By Default

I think about usability, readability, and universal design early, not after the design is finished.

Polish With Purpose

I use visual design to support function, trust, and ease of use, not just to make a screen look nice.

What I Bring to a Team

I bring a mix of structured thinking, creative energy, and practical design execution.

My engineering background helps me break down complex problems, organize information, and think through systems. My UX training helps me turn those insights into clean flows, thoughtful interfaces, and designs that support both users and business goals.

How I Work

I like to understand the problem before designing the solution, then move from structure to visuals with each decision tied to a clear purpose.

Why Sparklyn?

Sparklyn represents the kind of digital experiences I want to create: bright, clear, polished, and useful.

To me, the name suggests spark, creative energy, clean design, and bright ideas. It reflects my approach to UI/UX: taking rough concepts and shaping them into interfaces that feel clearer, easier to use, and more alive.

Clarity

Design that helps people know where they are, what matters, and what to do next.

Creative Energy

Fresh ideas shaped with intention, not decoration for decoration’s sake.

Polish

Clean details that support usability, trust, and a more refined product experience.

Let’s Build Something Clear, Useful, and Memorable

I am looking for UI/UX, marketing, and tech based opportunities where I can contribute thoughtful design, strong visual execution, and a structured problem solving mindset.

I use Figma, FigJam, and Adobe XD to move ideas from early planning to clean, testable interfaces, including research notes, user flows, wireframes, prototypes, and visual systems.

Explore my case studies to see how I approach research, accessibility, product thinking, visual design, and usable digital experiences.

If you are building a product that needs clarity, polish, and a designer who can think through both the details and the bigger picture, I would love to connect.
